God Clay Symbol

While visiting my partner in Durham he took me to a pottery studio where he is learning how to throw pots and bowls etc and I had a go at making a few things. My first attempt at making a bowl failed miserably (I blame that on being made to do it the "proper" way, rather than leaving me to have fun with the clay), my second attempt can be seen here- lost-in-the-day.deviantart.com…

And this is my third attempt at throwing. Like my other piece it is a little misshapen in places but comparing it to a clay candlestick I built back in primary school it is pretty good improvement! I didn't intend for this to be a candlestick when I started, I was just going to try making another bowl but the clay rose up so easily while I was centring the piece that it was clear to me it wanted to be the counterpart to my Goddess symbol so this became a God symbol. Whether I got the hole in the top the right size to hold a candle remains to be seen. My partner had to fire and glaze this for me as I was only in Durham for a few days and I had to leave before it was ready.
